THE LAST STAGE

Luanda is one of Africa’s fastest-growing capitals, a Portuguese colonial port city turned sprawling coastal metropolis, shaped by Kimbundu and Umbundu heritage, decades of civil war and rebuilding, and an oil-driven boom that transformed its skyline in a single generation. Kizomba and semba, two of Angola’s signature musical exports, were born out of this mix of tradition and modern city life.

It’s also home for Zandre Campos, co-founder of Africa 7 and CEO of ABO Capital, the firm hosting the seven-country run. Run 7 closes out the journey here, in the city where the idea for Africa 7 took root.
